Message from the Commander 4 Corps DHA is by far the largest and most prestigious Housing Society in the country. It was purported to be developed as a model residential estate to achieve the goals of healthy and efficient civic life. The standard of housing achieved by DHA over the years must be maintained to provide a benchmark for quality community living.
I am happy to know that DHA has launched some mega projects of significance in the recent years. These development projects are presently in various phases of planning, execution and completion and will go a long way in maintaining the versatility and efficacy of the Housing Authority. I hope that DHA management energized with a vision and commitment would spare no effort to ensure speedy implementation and completion of these projects on schedule.
I take this opportunity to impress upon the staff the need for carrying on with sustained and dedicated efforts to further improve the standards of living environments in DHA. Besides, security and cleanliness are the two grey areas which require immediate attention. There is a need to adopt a proactive and forward-looking strategy to bring a qualitative improvement in garbage/debris collection in the area. Paradoxically, security in DHA needs to be upgraded with a radical and reinvigorated approach to ensure peaceful and secure living environment for the residents.
I urge upon the DHA management to prepare themselves to meet the future challenges successfully, to bring quality to all their undertakings and to ensure a resident-responsive management. Active participation and involvement of the residents in affairs of DHA is also of prime importance. They must be kept well informed about the various ongoing development projects in DHA by seeking their views and suggestions so essential for the success of any resident related facility.
I expect the DHA staff to work with utmost zeal and dedication to achieve the highest standards of excellence in all their undertakings. It is their solemn duty to build upon the years of long trust and uphold DHA’s good name, reputation and credibility.

The history of DHA Lahore-EME Sector is an embodiment of a progressive yet eventful journey of achievements. Over the years the Housing Authority has come to symbolize as an efficient, friendly and well-regulated residential estate that includes comprehensive services focusing on provision of top class educational, recreational and residential facilities. “Accomplishment is easiest when we work the hardest, and it is the hardest when we work the easiest”.
DHADHA Lahore-EME Sector has recently launched a number of futuristic projects, which are radical in terms of development and planning. These mega projects are inspiring examples of Housing Authority’s mechanism to keep pace with the contemporary challenges in housing and community living. “Thinking well is wise; planning well wiser; doing well, wisest and best of all”.
In our major strategic projects, the first Desalination Plant of its kind in the country is scheduled to become operational by the end of this year. This will considerably facilitate to overcome the pressing problem of water shortage as it will make available 3 MGD water, which alongwith additional quantity of water from KW&SB would enable continuous 24 hours tap water flow in DHA.
DHA has adopted a reinvigorated strategy to tackle the elusive problems of sanitation and cleanliness in Defence. This would ensure efficient waste disposal and debris collection. In consequence, the residents would soon see a visible improvement in the cleanliness of environments. “We must develop a better sense of responsibility towards our total environment”.
Hi-tech security cameras/alarm system are being installed on busy road intersections in DHA while Vigilance Deptt has been re-equipped with modern vehicles and communications to enhance its responsiveness. It will now play an efficient and effective role, in co-ordination with Police, to ensure secure environments for residents.
Since the last year, DHA has been engaged in intense multi-faceted development activities. The thrust of development is -pronged parameters including infrastructure and services.
The ongoing renovation and up-gradation of Society had bogged down in the initial stages due to complex nature of inherent problems. With the change of contractor and strategy of implementation, requisite momentum is being speedily gained to complete the refurbishment and it is expected that residents would soon see a visible improvement in the area.

The salient features of the ongoing works include carpeting and widening of roads network, implementation of modern traffic circulation plan, up-gradation of commercial areas, construction of flyovers, underpasses and footpaths etc which will help the Housing Authority to maintain its leading role in the field of urban housing.
DHA Lahore-EME Sector has adopted a proactive and innovative strategy to bring about substantial improvement in sanitation and sewerage system in its jurisdiction. Similarly, it has reorganized and re-equipped the Vigilance Branch with modern mobility and communications to operate in co-ordination with the local Police. This would further improve the security situation in DHA Lahore-EME Sector tremendously.
I would take this opportunity to commend the role of Residents Associations for playing a pivotal role in providing valuable feedback on various projects. Their suggestions and views are very helpful to ensure transparency and success of ongoing works.
